1. NEW MONASTIC COMMUNITY

15. MONKROCK New Monastic Community is a school of Christian perfection open to all followers of Jesus Christ (Catholic and non-Catholic) who wish to adapt the Gospel ideal personified in monasticism to their life at home and in the world. “The world is my monastery, my body is my cell, and my soul is the hermit within.” (St. Francis of Assisi)

16. Under the patronage of St. Francis of Assisi, the community is consecrated to Our Mother of Perpetual Help (Theotokos of the Passion), in union with her son, Jesus Christ, Great High Priest and King of Divine Mercy. “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.” (Heb. 4:4)

17. The official name of the community is Oblates of the Last Martyrdom, signifying their imitation of the saving Passion of Jesus Christ, his glorious Resurrection and Ascension into heaven. “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” (Rom. 12:1)
